Looking for a good rescue?

Thought I'd plug a couple of rescues I've had experience with in case you're looking for a nice place to adopt a dog from...

Paw Prints Rescue – Yuba City

My sister adopted her dog from this organization. It's a bit of a drive, but the organization is wonderful. We picked her dog up from the grooming business that the director (i think?) owns.

PJ's Small Dog Rescue - Isleton, CA
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CA1075.html
This is the rescue I got my lovely Astrea from and the couple who run it are fantastic. I left with a goody bag with a toy for astrea, leash and collar, large sample of the food she was eating, a pamphlet with all her records up to that point and an open invitation to bring her back for her subsequent vaccines.

They kinda like eachother...

Contrary to what folks at the dog park think because of the way that Astrea and Jameson play....they do like each other. They just don't want us to really know it. I did catch a glimpse of them looking cute and almost cuddly on the way home from a weekend in Tahoe...

Jameson also keeps watch while I sleep...

I take naps often. It's no secret to the puppies that there are some days that mama needs to curl up on the couch to recharge. Apparently the other day Jameson felt the need to guard me while I slept...

I post pictures to daily pet on live journal and got some great captions for the picture, here are some I liked:

"I guard the Keeper of the Noms."
"Almost perfect yoga pose: Pug has reached enlightenment!"
"Hey, bub. You got authorization to photo this lady?"

Jameson watching Astrea.

Jameson loves Astrea so much he sat and watched her sleep the other night...

Day one was a success

Jameson's first day at school was a success.
Astrea was a good big sister. Of course, she beat him up a little to make sure he understood she's still the boss - but other than that, their group leader said Astrea played with her bestfriend Brandy and Jameson made friends with some other pugs, but Astrea always made sure she could see where Jameson was and that he was doing ok.
They were both exhausted when we picked them up. Jameson fell asleep standing up in the car with his mommy holding him up.

Jameson's first day of school!

Now that Jameson is fully vaccinated and neutered he can finally go to doggy day camp with Astrea! Today was his first day. He was super excited. They wouldn't stay still so I could take a pretty picture, so here's what we got...
